Join Lenoir-Rhyne University on its campus in Columbia, South Carolina, for a "Stomping Out Stigma" Health and Wellness Carnival, this Saturday, November 4, from 5 to 8 p.m.
The event, which is co-sponsored by the Lambda Rho Chi Chapter of the Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Honor Society, is aimed at raising funds and awareness for mental health and illness. Resources from mental health and wellness agencies in SC will be provided, along with live music, food trucks, and games for children. Proceeds from the event will be donated to Mental Health America of SC (MHA-SC), and National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Mid-Carolina.
Attendees are also invited to take a tour of campus, and students, faculty, and staff, will be available to speak with anyone interested in pursuing a graduate degree program. LRU's Center for Graduate Studies of Columbia was founded in 2014, and offers programs in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Human Services, and Occupational Therapy. The Center shares space with the Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary, which merged with LRU in 2012, and offers a variety of divinity programs.
The event is free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted but are not required.
If you are interested in being a vendor during the event, please contact Dr. Aubrey Sejuit, Assistant Professor of Counseling, at Aubrey.Sejuit@lr.edu.
