HICKORY, N.C. — Lenoir-Rhyne University is pleased to invite students, faculty, and members of the community to attend a free concert with the US Navy Concert Band. The ensemble will be performing in P.E. Monroe Auditorium on Friday, February 28 at 7 p.m. Free tickets are required for general admission seating.
Participating in high-profile events for over 85 years, the US Navy Concert Band, the Navy’s premier wind ensemble, presents a wide array of marches, patriotic selections, orchestral transcriptions and modern wind ensemble repertoire.
As the original ensemble of the Navy Band, the Concert Band hosts an extensive local concert season, and has been featured internationally at festivals in Oslo, Stockholm, and Quebec City. Recognized as one of the finest wind ensembles in the world, the Concert Band is in constant demand by the nation’s foremost musical education organizations, such as the American Bandmasters Association and The Midwest Clinic.
