LRU Music Program Welcomes Alumna Back for Concert

HICKORY, N.C. — Julia Byrd, class of 2011, returns to Lenoir-Rhyne for a solo piano recital on Saturday, October 20th at 7:30 pm in the recital hall of the Mauney music building. Her program reprises her recent Master of Music degree recital at UNC-Greensboro. Currently a student of Dr. John Salmon, Byrd’s recital features not only standard repertoire for piano but also explores the art of improvisation, including a free improvisation on themes suggested by the audience. The concert is free and open to the public.
