Lenoir-Rhyne University invites families, friends, and alumni to LRU Family Weekend 2012, an event to be held Sept. 28-29.
This event is comprised of a wide variety of opportunities, including classroom experiences, co-curricular activities, interactions with faculty and staff, and athletic events. All events except for the football game and food items are free of charge.
Prior to the beginning of Family Weekend, guest will have the opportunity to attend a Pre-Weekend event. On Thursday,September 27, the Visiting Writers Series presents Nicholas Carr, author ofLRU’s summer read, The Shallows. The event beings at 7:00 p.m. and is free to the public.
Beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, guest will have the opportunity to sit in on a selected variety of L-R classes such as Global Education, Macro-Economics, US History to 1865, and a few others.
Friday evening, a dessert social and bingo will be held in the Cromer Dining Hall beginning at 7:30 p.m. Guest can also attend a rehearsal and tour of the L-R Playmakers upcoming production at 7:30 p.m.
On Saturday, Sept. 29, the day will begin with brunch at 9:30 in the Cromer Dining Hall. Beginning at 10:00 a.m., guests can participate in self-guided tours of the academic and campus buildings around campus.
Families and guests are welcome to attend the athletic events on campus that day. The football team will compete against North Greenville in the Moretz Stadium beginning at 7:00 p.m.
