Lenoir-Rhyne University's Asheville campus will host a fundraising event for Eliada, a local non-profit organization supporting children in need, on Friday, November 3, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Guitar Bar on Riverside Drive in Asheville.
During the fundraising event, 20 percent of all profits earned will be given back to Eliada. Hors d'oeuvres will be provided and beverages will be available for purchase. Donations will also be accepted for one or more of the following items:
Hair ties/hair bows
Donations can also be collected by contacting Susy Chandler, LRU's Asheville Center Affairs Coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Eliada provides education, foster care, residential treatment, and training for children who do not have the comforts of a normal day-to-day household. Originally founded in 1903, the organization has been helping children succeed for over a century. Children served through Eliada have faced many hardships, with nearly ninety percent having experienced abuse. Eighty-nine percent of Eliada's Pre-Kindergarten graduates meet social and emotional developmental expectations, and 74 percent of residential care youth transition to a community based setting after reaching treatment goals.
