Red & Black Days 2012
Many exciting things will happen during your visit, but the most important thing is that this will be the very first time for us to greet you as a true Lenoir-Rhyne University Student! That’s right…YOU’VE MADE IT! And we can’t wait to congratulate you in person and welcome you to the L-R Family!
Below is some very important information for First-Year, Transfer, and Graduate students about the Red & Black Days. Please review it carefully and print it out for your convenience. If you have any questions, or if you need to make changes to your reservation, please notify us as soon as possible. For directions and a look at our campus map, visit our website at www.lr.edu/visitors/maps-and-directions.
We look forward to seeing you soon!

Student Health Forms and Immunizations
If you have not already done so, please turn in your student health forms and immunization records as soon as possible. The University Nurse will be available during check-in to go over your records and answer any questions you may have. If you still have outstanding immunizations, we will provide a time during the event for you to come to our clinic to receive them.
Community Service Challenge--100% Participation!
Our Community Service Challenge this year is called Project School Supplies, and we want to challenge all entering students to participate 100%! Due to budget cuts and the poor economy, we have chosen to help elementary school students and their families by providing school supplies to area elementary schools. What a great way to become involved in your new community! We are asking that you bring a few school supplies to Red & Black Day to donate. Visit our Project School Supplies website at www.lr.edu/community-service-challenge to see a list of suggested items to bring with you! Don't forget your donation...we're going for 100% participation!
The First-Year (Freshman) Summer Read
Every year the First-Year class reads a book the summer before coming to campus. The First-Year Read this year is The Shallows: What the Internet is Doing to Our Brains, written by Nicholas Carr. It will be available for purchase on Red & Black Days in the bookstore, or you may purchase it from another source.
